Matteo Brunello
I’m Matteo Brunello, race car mechanic, rally driver and enthusiast about sport cars in general. I talk to you about some my working experiences, starting from more recent to the further on the years. During the last years I’m become a specialist of Porsche 911 Gt3 Cup 991 and 992, working from 2017 on different Porsche championships like PMSC Supercup (6 editions), PCCI cup Italy, Pccf cup France like chief mechanic, working with many drivers for an unique team: Dinamic Motorsport. In these years the attention to small details and the precision to set up the cars were key points for me, they were shown off from my method and passion to working. Key points that together of the work of the other team members pay with many good results, wins and podiums in different championships. A further satisfaction brought by my precision and working method is then arrived with the role as gearbox technician for the cup department of the team followed to a training course for Authorized technicians to work on Porsche Cup gearboxes organized from Porsche Italy.
During the precedent years I worked always like mechanic in some rally teams. The most important of them was Munaretto Sport, where I spend more time and where I learned a lot , working in the workshop and in rallies with different category cars from r2 and s1600 to s2000 and r5. My job in Motorsport is born also thanks to a mechanical professional school that taught me the technical basics of cars.
Matteo is synonymous with precision and quickness. A versatile mechanic who knows how to evaluate the moment and understand when it is necessary to act quickly and usefully, when you don't have the time, and to evaluate very well the damage or wear of parts that can escape to a common eye. These characteristics are valid both in the workshop and during a race weekend. A complete mechanic from the top to the bottom, from the rebuilding of a car replacing a chassis to the gearbox rebuilt, through the daily setup, management of works and spare parts in the workshop.
Matteo was fundamental during my seasons in the Porsche Supercup. It is difficult to find faults, only merits. Very careful and meticulous in the preparation of the car. He is determined, effective, fast and technically very prepared. A true professional
Working as a mechanic on a racing porsche was a dream comes true!
Preparing racing cars makes me proud every day, looking for perfection by taking care of the small details, especially in the set up.
What I have learned so far has come thanks to several factors such as: comparing with team members, engineers, drivers,
other mechanics and sharing their ideas. other important things are the use of technical manuals,
the complete disassembly and assembly of various cars.
After several years as an employee in Dinamic Motorsport, I decided to take the path of the freelance mechanic, to expand my knowledge in new championships, continuing to work giving my best and looking for victory.
My passion for racing started as a child thanks to my parents.
I raced with go-karts from 6 to 12 years old in national races.
A few years later, waiting for my driving license, I raced on icy circuits with a rally car.
The next step was rallying, with good results in international and Italian national competitions.
2 participations in the wrc academy,
2 junior Italian championships and some minor trophies.
I was recognized by the Italian rally federation as one of the national talents at the end of 2010.
This experience and passion then helped me with my work, taking advantage of a strong experience regarding the tires and their wear out, the car behavior and its adjustments, making it easier to communication between me and engineers and drivers.
Gearbox technician, a role of great responsibility that I achieved with precision and method.
In January 2020 Dinamic Motorspost decided to promote me as a gearbox technician for the gt3 cup department.
With this role I participated in a course for the G91 / 70 911 cup gearbox, organized by Porsche Italia.
After the course and the achievement of the certificate, thanks to further advice from the team's technical leader, I started the checks and rebuilts of the 991 and 992 gearboxes independently.
